Tim Westergren, Founder of Pandora Radio
You don’t need to have an iPhone or a Mac to enjoy today’s Daily Apple, you just need to be a music lover. The Chicago Apple Store on North Michigan Avenue will be hosting a live talk with Tim Westergren, founder of The Music Genome Project and Pandora Radio.Pandora radio is arguably the biggest phenomenon in online music since P2P file sharing came around, and is definitely one of the best ways to get more of the types of music YOU love (not what crappy popular radio thinks you should love).
Pandora Radio is a FREE streaming internet radio service that takes one user specified artist and builds an entire “radio station” based on the musical stylings of that particular artist using the Music Genome Project’s music classification algorithm; for example, it could create “Nine Inch Nails Radio” and you would swear that Trent Reznor had hand picked every song on the station. The ubiquitous Pandora is available on the internet, on you computer, and the iPhone. In fact, the Pandora Radio App has held the number two spot on the App Store for quite some time…right behind the definitely-must-have Shazam. We definitely think it is one of the top 10 best apps out there.
The event will be held on Tuesday, December 9th at 7:00 pm at the Apple Store located at 679 North Michigan Avenue. Tech Loop suggests that every music and technology lover does not miss this great opportunity to learn more from one of the most important people shaping the music industry today.
